Instructor. This is a beautiful way of reinforcing positive touch using
simple massage strokes with stories, songs or poems.
Eileen has also
used this beautiful technique with special needs children. Children, of
all ages and abilities, can sometimes feel frustrated or misunderstood simply
because they don’t know how to communicate – they don’t have
the vocabulary or they don’t know what is
expected from them or they just can’t explain what they are
feeling. So often Eileen has seen parents, carers and teachers struggle
to understand children and the ‘clues’ children give them to
indicate how they are feeling.
Story Massage acts like a translator, improving communication between
children and adults, deciphering needs and feelings, leading to healthier and
happier relationships.
In her Positive
Touch and Relaxation sessions, Eileen uses Story Massage with stories, songs
and poems. She encourages children to communicate emotions,
write their own simple stories and show compassion for themselves and
others.
